Located just outside St Agnes, The Chalet refers to the existing post war property that occupied this unique site. Cloud 9 achieved planning permission for a replacement dwelling in 2022. Despite being located in a World Heritage Site and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the planning process was navigated quickly. The design followed the Cornwall Design Guide and the client’s brief, for a light, airy plan, conducive to family living and able to grow with them and their children.
The design marries traditional and contemporary materials and detailing, creating a dwelling that sits harmoniously in its environment.
Constructed using innovation IFC (Insulated Concrete Formwork) the house was constructed on programme and completed in 2023. The house uses a number of renewable technologies and received an EPC rating ‘A’.
From the moment we met Ian and his team they were professional and reliable. We took on a project to design and build our own home and only did so with the support and encouragement of Ian by our-side. He guided us through the design process, took care of gaining planning permission and was always on hand when construction was underway. No amount of redesigns or silly questions seemed too much and his communication was always prompt and helpful.
